Story Book Character Day

It's Children's Book Week. The boy's school is celebrating with different themes each day. Today is Story Book Character Day. After MP decided at the last hour, minute, second that he wanted to participate... last night we brainstormed and brainstormed and then came up with this idea from one of his all time fave books. The book is Arnie the Doughnut . A book about doughnuts is one of his faves. Duh. Ha! Awesome part is we had all the supplies to a make his character here at home. Phew! I took a swim ring spray painted it and then glued some card stock on it for the sprinkles, eyes, and mouth. Then I taped some string on the back so he can wear it around his neck. Yay! Quick. Next time we'll come up with something more creative when we have more time! Check out Arnie the Doughnut next time you are at your public or school library. It's a cute story!                                 ...

Here's Johnny. Er. Matt.

Wordless Wed

Living with boys...

When you live with boys football helmets become part of the decor. Sigh. ;-)

We love Station 105!

A very happy little guy. We were there to give to them and the firefighters still were giving to us. Thanks, Captain Rick. Last night and yesterday was scary for our neighborhood. There was a fire about 2 miles away. It started about 3pm. It burned over night. We we woke up about 3am to a house filled with smoke. The firefighters worked all night and it was 100% contained by 5am this morning. I barely slept a wink. I was worried. I found myself having an anxiety/panic attack about 8am. If you've ever had one, it is a horrible feeling. Anyway. I decided I wanted to do something for the awesome firefighters of our local Station 105. So, I baked away all morning. A cake, some brownies, a few tubs of cookies (From my boys school fundraisers. Which by the way we are selling cookies etc until Sept. 20 if you need some.) that I had in the freezer. As soon as I picked up Matt from school he helped me carry them in to the guys at 105. They were so happy. They thanked us a million time...

Rubba-Dub-Dub Three People in a Bed?

It was an arm, a leg, a fist in the face! All night long we fought for a place! No chance for me to get any beauty rest. Someone did get a booty rest though. Yes, booty. Matt kept trying to use mine as a pillow. Move over Pillow Pets. My booty is softer and more comfy it seems. You see, when the dad is away the mice wanna stay in mama's bed. So not a wink or a blink I got with all the moving and yanking of the covers but, a peaceful rest I got anyway. Just feeling them close and hearing their sweet snores made it worth all the sleep I lost. Thank you Jesus, for these moments. Its the little things! Sleep? Who needs it anyway. I am glad somebody got some sleep!

Pirate Day at School: Argh!

Boys Will Be Boys

My silly boys. This all before two today.

The reason.

This morning Matthew played with his nativity. I love how he set all the Little People facing the baby Jesus. Remembering the reason for the season.

My silly boys!

While I held our place in line for Santa. My silly boys went into Barnes and Noble to look around. I looked up after a while and look what I saw. I heart them!

Mommy's Little Helper

This is mommy's little helper. And I don't mean Matthew. :) Its my (I use the word 'my' loosely) iPad! It helped me get in the store and do what I needed in no time. It helped me keep Matt occupied the whole time. He does not like to do any shopping of any kind. What male type does? :S Thank you, Maxi for your help! An early Valentine!

I hope you can read this sweet note that Matthew wrote to me and Kevin. It says, "IM MATT I LOVE MY DAD AND MY MOM." Awww! Had to share!

December 2009: And its only the first two weeks!

There have only been 15 days of December so far and we haven't even gotten to the best part...Christmas!! Me and the boys have been busy the last couple of weeks. We have had so much fun. I don't want it to end. First off on Dec. 4th, Matthew, had a "white" birthday! Matt had snow on his bday!! It was super fun and cold day. We made soup and sang to Matt and gave him his present. The next day was his party where the celebration continued. No snow the next day though. It just stuck around long enough for the boys to play in it and make a snowman. Matthew celebrated his birthday at Kids in Action in Kingwood. He picked a SpongeBob theme. It was a fun party. After the cold and wintery day on Friday, Saturday turned out to be sunny and nice out. Made his party day fun!! He loves being four! And he has been celebrating every day. He doesn't know quite yet that his birthday is only one day in December not the whole month. He is still going around saying its his birthday...

The Frogs Go Green

Last weekend on Halloween, one of the moms from Matthew's soccer team the Frogs brought green hairspray for the boys to put in their hair. The boys thought it was super fun. Even Alex got in on it. The funny part is that even though Braedan's mom was the one to bring the hairspray he did not want to put any in his hair. :) The Frogs are too cute! I have really enjoyed watching them play together. They are so sweet. Go Frogs!
