Alex has become quite the computer nerd. Just like his mama. Thanks to Aunt Jenny, he now loves to get on the computer. Jennifer told us about Starfall . It is an awesome website for kids. It teaches them to read. Alex has wanted to get on the computer and play on it every day since she told us about it. We may have to get Alex his own computer. Ha, Ha. He looks really comfy on the computer as you can see. He even brought his drink with him.
This morning a major thunderstorm. We lost power. Backyard was and still is underwater. Limbs are every where. Right this second I look out and it is sunny and warm. Not a cloud in the sky. A nice spring afternoon. What a difference a few hours makes. Gotta love Texas!!
I looked up and there is this full blown toddler walking and talking to me. What? Wait. Where did my baby go? He will be 17 months old on May 4. When did this happen? I am sad. Time goes by so fast.
Alex belongs to an awesome group at church called the Sonshine Kids . They are an all kids choir. They just had their spring performance on April 15. It was titled Son Seekers Nation Vacation . My niece Maddie and Goddaughter, Gabi are also involved. They had lead parts in the show. They did a GREAT job!! I am so proud of them!!
I did not get to post it on the actual day but, I want to send another very Happy Anniversary shout out to my in-laws (my second Mom and Dad). They celebrated 40 years of marriage on April 15th. I think that is so awesome!!! Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. P . Congrats you guys! I love ya lots!!
Today my sister is 31!!! I wish I could be with her in D.C. along with my parents to help her celebrate. Happy Birthday, J !! We love you!! Hope you have a great day!!
Here are Alex and his cousin, Preston jousting. This was back in March at a Spring Fling we went to. As you can hear they had us rolling with laughter.
Today was fun. Or fu-un! Like Alex says it. It was mellow. No plans really. Just stayed home. Watched my cutie patootie nephew. The boys enjoyed that. Kevin had the day off. He worked in the yard. We had breakfast for lunch. Eggs, bacon, and bisquits. Then at the last minute something came up. A quick errand. Next, thing I know we end up at Chuck E. Chesse's for dinner. Who doesn't like that?! Good pizza. Kids running all around. Good times. I like days like that. Where things just happen. Unexpected memories made. Fu-un!! Hope you all have a great weekend!!
Yesterday was the day. Alex let his butterflies go. He released them in our backyard. It was not easy. He was very sad. He did not want to let Skylar, Andrew, Hayden, Resse, or Alex go. He did it though. He put on a brave little smile and said good-bye to them before letting them go. For about an hour afterwards he walked around the yard looking for them. He was able to track two of them. Poor guy. He is ok today. He is already talking about getting some new butterflies. And he just knows that his old ones will 'come back to Texas and see us' soon he said. Click on any picture to enlarge: 1. The butterflies in their cage. 2. The butterflies get a drink of orange juice before flying away. 3. Alex watching his butterflies fly away. 4. One of the butterflies checks out his new surroundings.
Alex has three butterflies. He is very excited. He wants to tell everyone! Click here to see the butterflies when they were just caterpillars. It has been so much fun watching the whole process . We will continue to keep you posted. --Oh, he has named the butterflies Reese, Hayden, Skylar, Andrew, and Alex. The first four names are friends in his class at the WLC .
