My sister is currently living in New York and working on her first Broadway show!! She is a Costume Designer. I am so very proud of her and I am super excited for her, too!! She is living her dream. There have only been 15 days of December so far and we haven't even gotten to the best part...Christmas!! Me and the boys have been busy the last couple of weeks. We have had so much fun. I don't want it to end. First off on Dec. 4th, Matthew, had a "white" birthday! Matt had snow on his bday!! It was super fun and cold day. We made soup and sang to Matt and gave him his present. The next day was his party where the celebration continued. No snow the next day though. It just stuck around long enough for the boys to play in it and make a snowman. Matthew celebrated his birthday at Kids in Action in Kingwood. He picked a SpongeBob theme. It was a fun party. After the cold and wintery day on Friday, Saturday turned out to be sunny and nice out. Made his party day fun!! He loves being four! And he has been celebrating every day. He doesn't know quite yet that his birthday is only one day in December not the whole month. He is still going around saying its his birthday...

On President's Day , we made a day trip to the Blue Bell Creamery in Brenham, Texas . Steve, my brother in-law, called and said he and his kiddos were going to Blue Bell and they invited us to come along. Kevin had the day off and none us had ever been to Blue Bell, so we took him up on his offer. We packed up and made our way to Brenham . Before we made it to the creamery we had lunch at the Brenham Municipal Airport . We ate at the Southern Flyer Restaurant at the airport. It is a 50s style diner. The waitresses are decked out in poodle skirts and the whole nine. It was fun. Afterwards, we watched a few planes arrive and depart. Then we were off for our 11:30 tour. It was so fun to watch how the ice cream that we eat at home is made. Matt and Alex especially loved the ice cream sandwiches being made. They are a Parks staple. If you have never made the trip to the creamery, I highly recommend it. At the end of the tour you get a sizeable sample of ice cream. They let you choose ...

Last week we celebrated my brother in-law, Steve's, 30ish birthday. We went to Chuy's . The food was yummy. Being with family was fun. The boys got a little creative with the tortilla dough they gave them to play with. Boys will be boys! Hope you had a great birthday Steve! Alex and Preston Alex's Texas made out of the tortilla dough.

Every year for the last four years my mom has made the kids Christmas pjs. Here are the cousins posing in this year's.

Here is a fun game we played last Christmas. I found it in a magazine called Family Fun . The game is called Family Tree. It is really fun. I just thought I'd share. You might like to play it at one of your Christmas gatherings. Here is how you play : Don't limit your tree-trimming traditions to your evergreen. Transform Dad into a decorated Christmas tree in this hilarious after-dinner activity. Supply your kids with green and red crepe paper, aluminum foil, and masking tape. When they're done, gather 'round the tree and take a photo to add to your family album or send as next year's holiday card. I found great plastic ornaments and plastic hooks at the .99 Store. And I bought a star ornament and hot glued it to a girl's head band for the star topper. It was fun to do. Send me pics of your family trees if you play! Here are Brian and Steve. We received our first Christmas card of the season today. It is from my mom and dad!!! Yay!! I love getting Christmas cards. It is a photo card. Those are always fun. I have filled up two Christmas print photo albums full of Christmas photo cards. I take them out each year with the Christmas decos. and put them on the coffee table. The boys and I love to look at them and see how much everyone has changed from year to year.

Matthew's preschool the Weekday Learning Center had their annual Halloween Parade on Thursday. It was fun. My mom and I went to watch. Then we stayed for chapel and part of the party. Here are a few pics of Matt's fun day. He was Pongo from Disney's 101 Dalmatians. My mom made the costume for Alex when he was Matt's age. I was actually pregnant with Matt the year Alex wore this costume. Wow. Time flies. I can't believe Matthew will be 3 in a month.

Our church had their first ever Blessing of the Pets this past Sunday. We took our dog, Phoebe, of course. Our pastor, Andy Noel, blessed the pets. There were dogs, cats, a hamster, and a rabbit. It was fun. We sang a few songs, some scripture was read, the pets were blessed. It was full of fun and fellowship! Plus we got to pet all the pets. Which the boys loved!!

We just got back from a week in Pennsylvania . We flew into Philadelphia . My sister met us there. Which was such a treat. She spent the whole week with us. Sunday to Sunday! It was fun. We went to Sesame Place two days. We drove through the Amish country. Went to Hershey . Spent some time at Winterthur Gardens . Stopped in to see the National Christmas Center . We even made time to do some outlet mall shopping. We had a blast! Here is the slideshow of our trip.

Me and the boys have been in South Padre Island, Texas for the last few days. We arrived on Tues. We leave today. Kevin had to be here for a work seminar . And thank goodness the boys and I tagged along. I have had the most incredible time. The beach here is BEAUTIFUL!!! We have had fun in the sun for sure. Alex and Matthew have been so happy to play in the sand and surf. And hang out by the pool. Yesterday, Alex kept saying, " Yay , it is summertime!" or "Mom, I am so happy it is summer!" I have enjoyed seeing their huge smiles and hearing their sweet laughter. I have really stopped and smelled the roses (sea water) and have taken in every single moment. Yesterday, we went on a dolphin watch . I lost count on how many dolphins we saw. It was AWESOME!! Then our captain took us out in the middle of the bay to watch the sunset. Wow!! In just a few short days on this amazing strip of land and sea I have felt such a surge of happiness!! Of new energy! With hopes that...

Alex graduated last week. He is officially a Weekday Learning Center grad! It was a lovely ceremony. Ms. Beth and the WLC center staff really put a lot of hard work and detail into this. We are so proud of our new little Kindergartner.
