Brenda & The Boys

Have you ever seen a pink Wal-Mart? I have. When we went to South Padre last week we stopped by their pink Wal-Mart. I have seen several different ones. Blue, Green, even a red one but, this was different. Traveling is fun. You never know what your going to get. :)

Here are the boys ready and excited to go on our trip to South Padre Island, TX . It is about a six hour drive. With kids it may be longer. Frequent stops are fun, aren't they? Here are the boys about 200 miles in. Yay! I got to finish a book I have been reading for a month. That I could have read in a day. And Kevin got to listen to his new Eagles CD we got him for Father's Day! Road trips rock!

I love Willow Tree figurines. I have received several as gifts. I just got this one from my friend Keri. I love it. It is on my night stand. It is called Brothers. It of course reminds me of my boys. And also brothers that I know. I think of Jack and Will, Jonah and Micah, and Brennan and Dawson when I look at it. Brothers are so special. I love having boys! Thanks again Keri, for my sweet gift.

Me and the boys have been in South Padre Island, Texas for the last few days. We arrived on Tues. We leave today. Kevin had to be here for a work seminar . And thank goodness the boys and I tagged along. I have had the most incredible time. The beach here is BEAUTIFUL!!! We have had fun in the sun for sure. Alex and Matthew have been so happy to play in the sand and surf. And hang out by the pool. Yesterday, Alex kept saying, " Yay , it is summertime!" or "Mom, I am so happy it is summer!" I have enjoyed seeing their huge smiles and hearing their sweet laughter. I have really stopped and smelled the roses (sea water) and have taken in every single moment. Yesterday, we went on a dolphin watch . I lost count on how many dolphins we saw. It was AWESOME!! Then our captain took us out in the middle of the bay to watch the sunset. Wow!! In just a few short days on this amazing strip of land and sea I have felt such a surge of happiness!! Of new energy! With hopes that...

Maddie, Matthew, and Preston ham it up for the camera. My mom and I braved it the other day and took them to the mall. All four of 'em. We actually had a blast. And my cousin and his wife were there to help out. It was fun!

Saturday night I went out to dinner and a movie with the girls!! We laughed so hard. It was fun. We talked up a storm, ate chips and salsa until we wanted to puke, and enjoyed ice cold margarrritas! Then we went to see the Sex and the City movie! Which was FAB-U-LOUS!! We all got CARRIEd away! It was a good time.--Doesn't our waiter Ross look like Steve from Blue's Clues? ;)

We went to Sea World the last weekend in May. It was so much fun! We stayed at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Spa (sorry Court! It was a special.)! It was AWESOME! It was our second time there but, this time I really enjoyed every second. Last time Matt was a little younger and I spent a lot of time in the room with him while Kevin and Alex explored the property. My parents went with us, too this time. They had a blast!! We swam mostly in the lazy river. Alex and Kevin participated in 'crab soccer'. Sunday morning there was a family scavenger hunt. There is a great seafood buffet on Friday night! Yum. Oh, and we even watched Alvin and The Chipmunks outside on the lawn with about 150 other guest. The hotel even provided the blankets and popcorn! It was a great time! Oh, yeah and we squeezed in a visit to Sea World . Which is always so much fun!!

17 years ago I graduated from high school! Yikes! Yup, June 4, 1991, Kevin and I walked across the stage at The Summit ! Lol! Seems like yesterday. --I guess that is how long Kevin and I have been together, too. Now that seems like longer. Ha!! ;) Current Mood: Nostalgic

I just bought this cup for Alex and one for Matthew, too!! Cute, huh?? I bought them from my BFFs website. She and her partner, Shannon Tipton have just launched their website Sassy Girl Couture ! It is full of fun stuff!! Check it out. They have great gift ideas. The boys love their new cups! We take them with us in the car. It is nice for taking to school and church, too.
