My Favorite Things

If you know me by now, you know I love to try out new products. If it is going to make my life a little bit easier I will try anything. So this week, I have to tell you all about my two new favorite things. One is the Swiffer Vac ! We had wood floors put in last year (yes, it has been a year.) And well, along with two young boys and a dog. The floors need sweeping a lot!! So, this new little vac is AWESOME!! I just grab it and go. It does the job. Love it! It is great on tile, too. It is really light. Gets in the corners well. I think Alex may have a new chore very soon. LoL! OK, so my other new favorite thing is by Air Wick . Again because we have a little dog running around, I like to have our house smelling good. So, I typically buy Glade plug ins or the plug in oils. But I saw these new Air Wick automatic air fresheners. They are battery operated air fresheners that have a timer and release puffs of spray. They rock! I got several...

Alex Goes To Kinder!

What a morning. Our baby's first day of Kinder.! Seems like yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. So small. Today he is a Kindergartner. Me, Kevin, and Matthew woke up to drive Alex to school. I had done quite a bit of crying the night before so, I was hoping not to cry when we took him. At least not in front of him. He was so excited!! Which made it easier on me just a little bit. He could hardly wait to get there. Once there he unpacked his things and he was ready to go. Wish I was! I could have stayed outside his classroom door the whole time if I could have. Matthew and I then went to run a few errands with Sandi (the boys call her Sissy). That was nice because it kept me busy. Matthew really missed his big brother. He was so excited to see him when we picked him up. He yelled, "Hi, Alex! How was your Kindergarten, Alex!?" So sweet. Then later Alex asked him how his day went and Matt said, "OK, I had to go to the Target store with Mom and Sissy...

Kindergarten here he comes!

Well, we had orientation tonight for Alex. And Gabi, too. Our Goddaughter is going to be at Summerwood Elementary , too. Yay!! Alex's teacher, Ms. Miller is really cool! I like her a lot. I think Alex is going to like her, too. We all sat and heard all about the class and schedule, and school, etc. Then we stayed and found out all about PTO, ways to volunteer, a ton of stuff. I am overwhelmed. Seriously! I am excited though that one of Alex's friends from the Weekday Learning Center is going to be in his class, Evalynn . Yay. That makes me happy!! We also stocked up on our Summerwood Elementary (SWE) gear. I got a super cute blinged out baseball cap with a star on it. We are the Summerwood Stars. Alex got 2 tshirts and a sports water bottle. Too fun! Alex walked out wearing one of his new tshirts. And he is sleeping in it, too. And asked if he could wear it tomorrow if it did not get dirty. Which after dinner and a good nights sleep, that ain't gonna happen. Is he excit...

We know!

We got a call from Alex's school. We now know that his Kindergarten teacher will be Ms. Cathie Miller. He is excited! We get to meet her and see his classroom tomorrow at the "Blast-Off" orientation. I must say, I am not as excited as he is. I am going to miss him during the day. I wish I had one more week. :>(

A really nice act of kindness.

Matilda Ledger's Guardian Angels posted by brenda - Tue, Aug 19, 2008, 6:01 pm PDT celebs: Heath Ledger Jude Law Colin Farrell Johnny Depp Michelle Williams topics: New York Kids Michelle Williams and her two-year-old daughter Matilda enjoy a summer day in NYC. INFDaily.com The late Heath Ledger 's daughter Matilda was spotted skipping along the streets of NYC yesterday with her mom Michelle Williams in the cutest pink sundress. Every time I see a photo of the 2-year-old I can't believe how much she looks like her dad. He definitely lives on through her.As most of you probably know, Heath was filming Terry Gilliam's "The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus" at the time of his death. Johnny Depp , Jude Law , and Colin Farrell stepped in to complete Heath's role, playing different versions of his character "Tim." When the three actors learned that Ledger's will had not been updated to inclu...

Denim and White

On our beach trip last week my friends and I took our kiddos (9 of them in all) dressed 'em up in denim and white and took their pictures. It was so much fun!! And I think we got some great shots. Here are a few of them. Oh, and us moms took a pic, too. Great memories!!

An Evening of Benihana and Backyardigans

On, Aug. 9, we had a fun family night with a great dinner at Benihana . Then we hopped on over to the Hobby Center for The Backyardigans Live ! We had a great time. After the show we met the actor that played Pablo the penguin. Fun! The boys were excited about that.

And Now A Matthew Moment

On Sunday, Aug. 3, Matthew fell off of a chair in the kitchen and bit down and completely through his lip. There was a ton of blood. It was scary. We drove straight to Texas Children's Hospital. When it was all said and done he got 6 stitches . Three in his mouth and three on the outside. Never a dull moment! **Alex had almost the same exact injury at the same exact age. He only had to get one stitch though. Boy!!

7 days...

In just 7 more days my baby (no more), Alex, will be in Kindergarten!! I am having every emotion possible!! He is so excited!! The pics below are of him taking his backpack for a trial run. He can't wait to start school. :(

Summer coming to an end...

We are still having a fun time even though the summer is winding down and Fall is upon us. We have made every effort to squeeze as much fun out of summer that we can. Next week is no exception. We will be spending a week at the beach with our friends, The Cokers, Pagels, and Alvarados. My parents and I took Alex school shopping yesterday. He is so excited! He is walking around wearing his new backpack. It is cute. I can't believe it is almost here.

And Now A Matthew Moment

Well. Mr. Matthew just thinks he is a big boy all the way. He wants to do everything by himself. Including pouring his own CEREAL!!! Which his Nana let him try and do. Well, she didn't really. But he took it upon himself when she wasn't looking. Here he is so proud of his accomplishment .
