And Now A Matthew Moment

MP is in First Grade this year. Today he brought home some things he's been working on at school. We found this little gem in the stack o'papers. He was given this piece of paper with the picture on it and was asked to write something about it. Here is what he wrote. He makes us LOL!! You can click on the picture to see it bigger.

DIM (Did It Myself): Frame on my Front Door is The New Wreath 2.0

Before I like to keep a wreath on my door. Especially, during the holidays. They look so pretty. I have several Christmas and Fall looking wreaths that I love and that still look good. Its the winter and spring and even summer wreaths that I had to get rid off because, they were starting to look a little worn out. So, instead of a wreath I found a frame at a garage sale for a few bucks and hot glued a "P" to presto it became my wreath replacement. Well, that frame fell one day and broke. Thanks to weather or maybe it was 2 little boys that slammed the door to hard. Jury is still out. My money is on the 2 little boys. We may never know. So, I found another frame and a new "P" to replace the others, but this time I decided to tweak it a bit. I put a piece of black foam board on the back of it. Then I found our initials and used velcro (the heavy duty peel & stick kind) to put each letter around the giant "P" and ta-dah new frame/wreath for my door! I...

Saw It On Pinterest

Its been a while since my last post. Fail. I love to blog. I don't why I don't just sit and do it. Even if its just for me. Its nice to look back. Like a diary or photo album. ANYWAY. Before Christmas, I saw this super cute idea on Pinterest. Wrapping your kids door with crepe paper. They can bust through it. You can do this for Christmas or their birthdays, too. We did it for Christmas!! It was super fun!! I waited until they were sound asleep and went up and wrapped their door ways with crepe paper in Christmas colors. Christmas morning they busted through it to come and see what Santa brought them. They thought it was so much fun!! I will do it again this year. It might also be fun to do for the last day of school or the first day of summer and or the first day of school. Ideas are endless. Thanks, Pinterest!!

Fun Holiday Treat Turned Out Pintastic!!

We made these fun Christmas Tree treats over the break. Its an upside down ice cream cone covered in green frosting. We put a star shaped marshmallow on top for the star. Then took M&Ms and Skittles for the ornaments. It was fun! And they were yummy!! The kids liked making them more than eating them actually. This post and idea is brought to you of course via an idea I saw on Pinterest! I love that site I am telling ya. Not a day goes by I am not doing something or eating something Pinterest related. Ha.

Go, Colts!

Alex LOVES football! LOVES!! I can't express in words how much.  Its his passion. He can talk to you ALL day about it. All. Day. All. He has wanted to play forever. We found out a few months ago that the YMCA has a flag football league. So, we signed him up and he loves it. He is on the Colts team. And unlike the pro team, his team is undefeated. LOL! He is so happy to be playing!! Go, Colts!! Go, Alex!!

Day 2

So. It's day 2 of 2012. Whatcha think so far? Its same stuff different year for me. Lol. Not much has changed. Of course I shouldn't judge after just 2 days. This year I hope to just take it one day at a time. Try and not sweat the small stuff. And get what I can get done when I can get it done. With lots of deep breaths, I am ready for whatever the days bring. One thing I am not ready for is my boys going back to school. I miss them already. I LOVE having them home with me!! And I know they love being home! It's been a great break! We've had fun! It's been low key. I've loved it. Love my boys. 151 days til' summer! But who's counting? Ha. For those of you "going back" tomorrow, have a great week! Its a short one. Yay! -B Sent from my iPad

2012

Happy New Year from Brenda and The Boys!!! Its 2012! Can ya believe it?!?! 2011 whizzed on by so fast. It was a fun year for me. I hope that 2012 brings as much fun and laughter as well. I spent NYE at home with the ones that me laugh the most, make me the happiest, make me crazy, and sometimes even make me cry. Ha. My boys!! We had a quiet night at home. Home. With the ones I love the most!! I kissed all 3 of them good night before midnight. They were tired and fell asleep early. IT was a nice NYE! I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else.....uh take that back. It would have been fun to be in NYC/Times Square with my friend, George. It was a nice NYEve with my guys. Our first holiday(s) without our, Phoebe. Miss her so much! She would have hated the fireworks last night. Sigh. Well... let's get this year started right. Right!?!? Stay tuned to see what me and the boys will be up to in 2012. I got a feeling its going to be a great year! I wish you all the best in 2012!!!...
