Old habits are hard to break.

Last night Matt slept on the floor by our bed because he was running a fever. So, this morning around 6ish he woke up. I sat up in bed and looked over his way to tell him it is ok. I will be there in a sec. I kept saying. As I say this I look over and realize I am grabbing at my night stand...looking for my glasses!! I think I even said, Hold on Matt while Mommy finds her glasses. Weird. After almost 3 weeks without them and I still think I have them. Ha! P.S. Matt has a doctor appt. at 10:45. He still has a fever. And won't eat. And that is not him at all! He loves to eat!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ALEX!!

Alex is five years old today!! 5! I can't believe it. Our baby boy (who was only 4lbs 13oz. when he was born) is now five!! Where the time went, I don't know. Happy Birthday, Alex!! Mama loves you soooooooooo much.

My Favorite Things

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser . Yes, my absolute favorite thing this very second. Matthew must have taken an art class that I did not know about because, he colored all over the playroom. Including Kevin's big screen TV upstairs. We're talking big time scribbles. On toys, the train table, their art desk, he covered a wide area. The wall, the blinds, the cordless phone...you get the idea. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser has been around for a while. I had forgotten about it. When I was complaining to my cousin Diane, and my sis about this mess yesterday, they both said use a 'magic eraser' . So, my sis got me one. And in less than 20 minutes the crayon was gone. I hardly had to scrub. I LOVE this thing!! It is awesome!! I won't forget about it again. I am going to make sure I always have one around. And as for Matthew. His crayon using days are numbered. Ugh.

This and That

I have been so busy it seems here lately. My sister is coming to town this week. So, I have been getting my house cleaned and ready for her visit. I registered Matt for the fall at the Weekday Learning Center. And I have been getting ready for the weekend! Alex is going to turn 5 on Sunday!! Five!! I can't believe it. And he will be in Kindergarten. I am so sad!! Speaking of birthdays Feb. is full of them!! We have been celebrating two or three a week so far. Crazy!! My Dad's sisters are also going to be here for a visit starting on Sunday. Yay! I love company. It is going to be great spending time with them and my sis! Oh, have I mentioned how much I love that I got Lasik!! Seeing has never been better!!! I love it. Kevin goes in on the 29th for his surgery. He is nervous. He'll be fine. Kevin is also about to start coaching Alex's soccer team at the YMCA this spring. They are excited! Poor Matt. He wants to play, too but can't until spring of '09 when he will b...

Love is in the air!!

And Now A Matthew Moment

These pictures kinda explain themselves. I don't guess Matt cared much for Donald Duck. Too funny! You can click on them to see them larger.

I can see the big E!! Oh, so clearly!!

Yes, as of Saturday, Feb. 9, I can see 20/20. I got Lasik and I love it. It is the best thing ever. I can see. I was a bit nervous on Friday morning. It all happened so fast though that I didn't really have time to think much about it. Zap, zap and it was done. I could see so much better as soon as I stepped out of surgery. Weird!! I love it. I can now see the big E!! Something I have not been able to do without glasses in a long time. Yay! And each day I swear gets even better. Woo Hoo!! I am loving life. The plastic shields I have to tape to my face for the next several nights so, I don't rub my eyes in my sleep. Not so much!!

Tomorrow

Well, this is it. My last post in my coke bottle glasses. I have worn glasses since the 3rd grade. I did wear contacts for several years. Then I got pregnant and was not able to wear them anymore. Part of me is sad. I feel like I am losing a part of myself. No longer can I ask Kevin what time it is because I am too lazy to put on my glasses in the morning. I won't be able to say, "Hey, Alex can you come help me find my glasses." Or I won't knock them off the night stand while I am reaching for them to put them on. Weird. It just has not hit me yet. I will be able to see. My eyes that for all these years have been impaired will be able to see clearly. Well. I will let you all know how it goes. I go under the laser at 7:15 am. And in a matter of minutes it will be done. Sight restored. Good as new. Until then...

Chinese New Year 2008: The Year of The Rat

Yes, today is Chinese New Year . It is the year of The Rat . I was born in the year of The Rat. Yay. 'Cause I hate rats! No really. I fear them like nothing else in this world. Yup. So according to the Chinese zodiac, I am a rat. Rats!! I just won't think about it so much. Happy Chinese New Year !!

The Happiest Place on Earth.

We had such a blast at Disney World! I want to go back. Six days and 467 pictures later....we are home and have a ton of memories and stories of our adventure to the "happiest place on earth!" Here is a peak at a few of our pictures.

Meet the newest member of our family.

Hermies. Alex's new pet hermit crab . He got it for Christmas from his Grandma and Pa. He joins our fish, Nemo and our dog, Phoebe. And yes, I am the one that takes care of it. Kevin takes care of the fish. He and I both care for the dog. Alex? Well, he gets to "say" I have 3 pets. Ugh. Hermies has been fun. So far. A bit smelly but, ok. He has since moved out (grown out) of his Spiderman shell. He has a new pearly white one. Next pet on the list is a frog. Yup. Alex also got a grow-a-frog kit for Christmas from Aunt Linda and Uncle Brian. That one should be fun to watch! They don't call us Parks and Wildlife for nothing!! :P

Bye, Bye, Four Eyes!

Yup, at 7:15 am on Friday, Feb. 8 I am going to have Lasik surgery. I am extremely excited. And yes, super nervous. I still cannot believe that after years and years of wearing glasses (being blind) that I will be able to see sans the glasses. I guess "seeing" is believing. LoL! So, we shall "see" what happens. I cannot wait. Tomorrow I have to start putting four different kinds of drops in my eyes. Four times each. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Bed time. Oh, and to make it complicated, I have to wait five minutes between each drop. So, tomorrow should be fun. Ha. Pray for me. I will let you know how it all turns out.

Spring cleaning early this year.

No Disney pics yet. Why you ask? Because I have spent the week at the doctor. Monday or was it Tuesday, I found out Alex had strep throat. So, fine. Antibiotic. Came home. He felt better the next day. Yay. Well, yesterday fever broke out. Then chills. Then sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head...you get the idea. So, back to the doctor we go today. He has the flu. Ugh. I too went to the doctor yesterday. Thought I might have strep. Not. Negative. Matthew? Happy, playful (wants his brother to get out of bed and play w/ him.), feeling good...for now. They are both taking Tamiflu as of this afternoon. So, I have broken out the bucket 'O hot water and some bleach and I am spring cleaning early. Spraying Lysol on eveything in the house including the dog. So, until my baby is feeling better I am not sure when I will post pics. Soon. I can't wait to share them. Hope you are all well and flu free!! Have a great weekend!! -B
